If you would like to be a member of the Tri & Run 1000 Mile club, stop by the store and pick up a log sheet. Keep track of your milage and once you have completed 1000 miles, turn in your log sheet and receive a complimentary 1000 mile t-shirt.

Great idea, do Ihave till the end of the year to complete 1000 or just till you run out of t-shirts? Thought I was doing ok in 06 at 619 miles since April, about 1000km. 1000 Mile Club sounds like a good goal to me. My other goal 26.2 this fall. Or is it 1600km. and 42.2? Stupid metric system.

That sounds like fun! I am terrible for keeping track of my training or distances. Maybe it will give me incentive!

Should be an interesting endeavour. I'm in for that one. Will have to stop in this weekend and get my log sheet.

Great idea, I will be in to get one. Hopefully that will help me keep track of my distances that I will be traveling while I'm training for ATB, the Toad and Disney.

Great idea Sandy. Over a year and a half ago, I signed up for "the award of excellence" program on the base. The key to that was to have 2000 units within 2 years. Just to give you an idea, a unit would be 1Km. There would be a breakdown in units for different activities. Anyways, as it turns out, I need to complete just under 800 units before July in order to get my award, and to tell you the truth, it's not feasable to me. And thats okay. Because I don't need the reward from the military, my reward is the miles I've already completed. I'll bring my book in and show you when I sign up for the 1000 mile club. I kept track of every single distance.

That would be about 44k each week from now until July. With your ATB training and anything else you undertake you might just make it! If nothing else it's fun trying right?

Yes! You are absolutely right! I'm gonna try, and even if I don't do it, I'm still gonna bring it in to show them that I at least tried! The bonus is I'm doing swimming too. We shall see what happens!

Well if you just want to get to the of Florida it's around a approx. 1000 miles. That doesn't even get you to Lake Okeechobee. Or near Miami whats the point of going to Florida and not going fishing.
Sandy just a suggestion ever thought about shorter goal award for walkers or those who are not marathoners yet?
Just my 2 cents.
