sure would have been nice to see the results from a local half marathon in the local paper in addition to results of a race held three hours away.  I know of one very proud, first time half marathon finisher who looked really forward to seeing their name in print and was pretty sad when it wasn't.

It sure would be.  Unfortuately I can't be in more than one place at a time.  Given the fact that race organizers either don't post their results or don't post them for weeks unless I'm standing at every finish line (three locals on the same day) I don't have privy to the numbers.  THEREFORE it would sure be nice that when local runners know of first time half marathoners that would like to see their times in print they let me know, particluarily when they know three different ways to contact me.  That would have been REALLY nice and then your friend would not have had to experience disappointment and sadness.  Thank you for your constructive comments.

That's a joke, right?
Did you read the last sentence of the article?

I'd heard about this level of ability before, but always believed it to be mythical...now I'm not sure.
BTW, results are up now, get someone to read them to you.  Tell them not to skip any paragraphs this time.

Too bad you didn't stick around after, you got a medal, and would have won a draw prize (I think it was a shirt with my picture on it wink).

I am wondering Sandy if you should even bother posting results in the future when it sounds like it is just pissing people off.  Is it really worth all the heartache when you are just trying to provide information on the running community as a whole and then people turn around and cr@p all over you?  I agree -- if I had a friend who was doing a race for the first time and thought it would thrill them to see their results in the paper, I would personally contact you and bring it to your attention.  Knowing you as well as I do, I KNOW that you would be more than accommodating as you are here to encourage new runners as well as ones who have been running for years.
You are doing a great job on your column and you are always going to get some criticism because you can't please all the people all the time.

By the way, Sandy, why didn't you post my 5K results for Sandbanks?   wink  Just in case anyone wants to know, it was a lousy 30:31.  buttshakeb roflmaob
