When I'm home I run a 10km route daily that I personally think is very challenging, safe, and scenic. If you punch in Wark, ON, on Google maps it comes right up.
I start at the corner of Oakview and Colonial, W to Harmer, SE on Harmer to Carman, SW on Carman to Nichol's, N on Nichols to Schriver, W on Schriver to Adams, S on Adams to Carman, E on Carman to Harmer to Murray, N on Murray to Colonial, and back to Oakview.
It's 10,100 metres, and climbing Schriver is a real sense of humour test, it's a steep 1km hill. It's probably safest to park on Oakview, as it's a dead-end.
Years ago I found a large forest to run/bike in close to Trenton, but I can't remember where it was, any ideas?
