I'm in BC for several months, and OK, I'm lonely and bored, and I want to get past the "Junior Runner" stage on this site!

I'm interested if anyone wants to share their favourite running music.  In front of my treadmill I've got a large TV and stereo that I plug a set of Koss KZ-99 -30db noise reduction headphones into.  Mostly I watch rock/punk videos I've taped from satellite, lately I've bought a bunch of hard rock DVDs.

I won't listen to music while I run outside, I'm nervous and allergic to Goodyears.

I thought it might be worthwhile if people could share lists of motivational or good ol' pump-up music they listen to while they run.  We could make our selections long enough for a 10k, half, or even a marathon, but that's a lot of music.  Would anyone else be interested?  I apologize if this has been done before on here, but I couldn't find any posts on it.  I know music is very personal, but I know I'm always on the lookout for something new and interesting in music, maybe others are as well.

G'day,

If you like it hard, try Chevelle, Flyleaf, Sponge (plowed), I'm currently into Three days Grace (they're actually from Norwood), and the odd Marilyn Manson can be motivating (beautiful people, Tainted love, etc)

Your mileage may vary.

Peace

Thanks Peter.  I'm not familiar with Sponge but I'll check them out.  I think my favourite running song is "Kickstart My Heart" by Motley Crue.  I made a word doc of the 30 tunes that really make me run fast, or faster than I usually run, which isn't that fast.  Unfortunately a lot of the songs are offensive, I don't know why they have to be like that, I certainly don't play them around the house.  Good work on the FatAss last Fall, I hope to be a little closer to your time this year!

Happy training,

Bob

Thanks April!  I'm not familiar with some of those songs but will be soon.  I agree with you that "Lose Yourself", "I Love Myself Today", and "Tweeter and the Monkey Man" are really great to run to.  Someone should write a song called "The Schriver Hill Blues".  I've got a 15 yr old daughter and am VERY familiar with girly motivational songs as well!
