I'm thinking of doing this run with my 10 year old son.  Does anyone have any info to share on how the event works?  I've never participated in something like this before.  What do the kids do while the adults finish their run?  Do the kids run with the adults, or on their own course?

Thanks,

Not sure about this race but usually they have their own race after the parents have headed out on their course.  They will finish before the adults so it's usually good to have another adult with you to watch them as there is no babysitting but at 10 he could probably be put to work or at least hang out by the finish line until you are done.

Sandy is right.  We are hoping to have 2 mascots there keep the kids entertained and make it fun for the kids while the 5km run is taken place.  5km run is an out and back course in the trail.  5km shouldn't be any longer then 1 hour.  I know there we be some fast runner and walkers.  But its all for fun and for a great cause.  There will be awards at the end and some draw prizes.  Must be there to win the draw prizes.  All proceeds go to kids and their families living with and beyond cancer.  Race info can be found at http://www.redballradio.com/runners/Sears%20National%20Kids%20Cancer%20Fun%20Walk%203.pdf.  Anything else just ask.
