Has anyone heard of the "Highlander"? It's a 105 mile suffer-fest that takes place in Bristol New York.
It has over 10000 feet of climb and 1-2 mile climbs that can reach 23% grade (for reference, 2nd Dug Hill is about 8% grade).
For the less masochistic they also offer a Midlander which is 72 miles and eliminates the 8 steepest climbs leaving "only" 7000 feet of climb.
There is also a Lowlander, Wanderer, Mountaineer and TT's.

Does anyone know how the Bancroft Hilly 100 would compare in terms of # feet climbing?

I'm definitely going to do the Bancroft tour this year, just not sure of which distance.

Hey Craig.

Yes, I have read all about it.  Looks awesome!  My uncle and I have talked about doing that course on our own, as the timing of the event does not work for us this year.  If we do the route, I'll be able to give you some real feedback for sure!

I would suspect that it is tougher than the hilly 100, but that is only a suspicion.  If someone doesn't post it, I'll try and get the elevation #'s for you for the hilly, as I have a few friends who have done that one several times.  FWIW, I have heard the Hilly 100 is also an excellent event!

Cheers.

I can't speak to the Hilly 100 as we did the Hilly 60 but it was an awesome event.  I personally wouldn't do more than the 60 because I was pretty tired of the constant up and down by the time we were finished.  Don't know any elevations but it was quite doable, even if a little slowely (for some of us).
