Wasnt' sure where to put this, so this is a good a place as any, because when they are done, it will be an awesome accomplishment.

Good luck to all who will be riding in the Conquer Cancer ride from Toronto to Niagara.  Ride safe and have fun.

Good luck Holly (Big S)

GOOD LUCK to you ALL !!

Thanks for the good wishes. We made it...what an awesome experience!! 218 km (to be exact) from Toronto to Niagara Falls. Started at the CNE grounds Saturday AM around 8AM. Several inspirational speakers to remind us why we were there. 4100 riders raising just over $16,000,000. YES thats 6 zeros!! Pretty amazing. It was hard not to get choaked up as you listened and looked around. All of the cancer survivors had yellow flags on their bikes...and there were a lot!

It was a beautiful ride; from residental roads with beautiful gated homes to rolling country roads. A little bit of stop and start in a couple cities but for the most part marshalls were posted at all intersections waving us through. Pit stops at approx 25, 50 & 75K were more than equipped with all the necessities and then some! The rain held off on Saturday for the most part...I got caught in the last 4k. At 102k the skies opened up and the biggest raindrops I've ever seen came down...hard. We rode 4k in that until camp...if only we had rode a little faster... The second day we started out in a light rain but it let up around the half way point and the sky cleared up for the finish. The finish was amazing...as is any finish line in any race!  Saw the falls first...then the lines of people cheering...then spotted my family. I could hardly see when I crossed the finish with 3 others on my team. I'm still getting goose bumps at the thought!!

The best part...riding with friends and being a part of something so much larger and important than myself

The worst part...carrying my GD bag to and from the transport truck; if I could have lifted it my bag would have gone over the falls

The scariest part...going down the biggest hill I've ever seen...Jeff I might need some new brake pads!! I did let go at a few spots so I did experiece the thrill as well but I was VERY glad when we reached the bottom.

Looking forward to my next adventure...what ever that may be!
