Hello all.  I'm new to running.  Like really new.  I do way more walking than running at this point, but I'm having a blast so far.

I was wondering if anyone knew the distance around Zwick's Park.  I go all around the outer perimeter and under the Bay bridge.  Just curious how far I am going, would be nice to know.  I have no fancy gadgets at all :(

Is there somehwere I'm supposed to introduce myself?

Hi Julia and welcome!

I am relatively new too.  The members here terrific and helpful.

This link may help you out http://www.waterfronttrail.org/maps/wt-5b_04.pdf

I introduced myself on the Beginners Thread, but I think its pretty casual, just jump in!

Hello JuliaGoolia, love the name and the movie.
If I'm thinking of the same loop you're asking about I believe it is just short of 5k. (4.something) grin
Have fun, run/walk is how we all started.

Mike you are SO MEAN!  We are supposed to be NICE and WELCOMING to newbies and nasty later.
Remember?

Julia Goolia ... before my fancy gadget I used the gmap pedometer one and found it fairly accurate.

Happy running!!

Welcome aboard azn
If you start and finish right around the water treatment plant and follow the trail around the perimeter, it is just over 3k. I used gmap-pedometer. Next time I take the bike down there I will use the odometer and check again.

Thanks for the welcome  cool

I don't start up by the treatment plant, I usually start near the little wading pool and just go all around the outside.

Thanks for the offer to map it for me :)

Isn't the water treatment plant over by Meyers Pier, not near Zwicks?  I think she is thinking of the route that we do on the Canada Day Run - or part of it.

Sorry didn't include that bit by the treatment plant, and I wasn't trying to be mean, just accurate (ish).  BTW I was using the gmap thingy to, I haven't run that route in quite a while.

Welcome JuliaGoolia, sorry if I was "SO MEAN".  I didn't even know I was allowed to get really nasty, ever.  LOL.

Oh I was thinking of the sewage plant that smells so lovely on the waterfront.  Now I know where you mean by the water plant.

You should be able to get an accurate distance from someone's garmin if they measure it during the Canada Day run next week.  They promote it as a 5K run when you run down to the end by the water plant and back again.  But I don't run with a garmin so don't know if what they say is accurate or not.
