That is ridiculous, why must people act in such ways. It's like the person posting here in Tri & Run forum for the sale of some types of drugs. Has anyone reported this yet?

Hey Sandy

Great race report!! Definitely makes me want to be there.
You guys have set the inspirational bar, and gives those of us who want to pursue an IM something to shoot for!

I gotta ask...."and the odd-odd person made for a slightly annoying ride." .....there's got to be more to that story!! yakyakb

There always is more to the story.  Suffice it to say that when doing an ironman many individuals feel the day is "about them" which it is...but some people just take it too far!  Aside from that IMC has the best volunteers, 5,000 approximately and spectators who line the course who are happy, smiling do anything for you people who give up at least 24 hours of their time to do anything and everything for you.  I can honestly say they "make" the day.

Thank you everyone!! We are just heading home so I will do my race report from home. But that was the most amazing day. And being out here with this group of people was so amazing. The volunteers and spectators were awesome. And all the athletes were incredible. Will keep my bike - Contessa and I have been through a lot together! Cheers Jenn

Race morning brought alot of nerves and a few tears as I was in the transition area getting my bike ready.  Sandy was there to calm me down and get me ready for the swim.  Standing on the beach with 2700+ athletes was more than a little intimidating but we waited until most had started before getting into the water to do our own thing.  All I kept thinking as I neared the shore was, "Please let me have made the cut off time."  I was more  than a little surprised to have completed the swim in 1:32!  I had a huge smile on my face as we started off on the bike.
As Sandy mentioned it was very windy and for me, long.  I was glad to get back into transition but not quite as happy to see my running shoes.  I would have rather seen my bed!!!
Sandy and Janet kept us on pace throughout the run.  Even when I was dry-heaving along side of the road they kept us moving.  I would not have made it through that marathon without them!!
It was with a sense of relief, pride and absolute joy when we crossed the finish line, hands clasped and smiles on our faces.
I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone on the Tri and Run team for helping make this dream come true.  Especially to Sandy and Janet - your inspiration, courage and support throughout the day was what made me an Ironman (Ironwoman)!!!

Oh, my friend, it's not what they take away from you that counts. It's what you do with what you have left.

I hope you have pictures to share!  That must have been quite the experience crossing the finish line hand in hand!
