Interesting movie, on now, The Flying Scotsman.

Scottish racing cyclist who twice broke the world hour record, in July 1993 and April 1994, and was the individual pursuit world champion in 1993 and 1995. He was known for his unusual riding positions and for the "Old Faithful" bicycle he built which included parts from a washing machine. He joined a professional team in France but was fired before his first race. He has suffered from clinical depression and twice attempted suicide. His life and exploits have been dramatised in the film The Flying Scotsman. Obree created some of the most radical innovations in the history of bicycle design.

Great movie, about one of my favorite cyclists.

If you want to enjoy some cycling history, look up Beryl Burton, one of the most impressive female cyclists to ever turn a pedal.

403.6km's in 12 hours(1967) beating the existing men's record.

160km's in 3 hours 55 minutes 55 seconds(1968) beating the existing men's record.

Some of her records stood for 20 years, one for 28 years and I believe her 12 hour record still stands.

Unbelievable lady. No professional support. Held down a job and raised a family.

Just ending, great movie Craig. Funny when he put the training wheels on!

I will look up Burton, most impressive lady!

Thanks - I enjoy inspiring stories.

Yes, the "training wheels" part was brilliant.

Sad how the governing body tried to keep him down. He was bad for business! They want champions riding "XYZ" brand bikes so they can move more product.
