Did an 8k run tonight with my daughter (she keeps telling me she’s a swimmer not a runner lol) for Sandy’s retirement run, which is fitting since it was because of her that I started running 17yrs ago. I bought my first running coat, a blue Saucony (lasted forever) from Sandy from a single room in a warehouse, 2003. I then really got to know her when I began personal training with her in the fall of 2004 and became a regular at Tri & Run, meeting up with the group in front of St. Paul’s high school to run Tuesday’s and Thursday’s . So many memories of going in to the store to buy gels or whatever other excuse I gave my husband and returning home hours later! I always felt like Norm from Cheers walking in there, happy greetings from whomever was behind the counter that day. Disney was my first runcaction with the group in 2007 and the start of many more adventures, from Marine Corps, Philly, Ironman, too many more to count. I always knew where I could go to be all my tri and running needs along with advice and tough love, I’m going to miss that place, but I know that there will be more runcations to be had and I’m looking forward to that! Happy retirement Sandy Musson, you were so much more than just a store, you created a community, thank you for that!
